Official Rules

1. Sponsor and Administrator

The Wenger Corporation Triple Threats Scholarship (the “Scholarship”) contest is sponsored and administered by Wenger Corporation (“Wenger” or “Sponsor”), 555 Park Drive, Owatonna, MN 55060, United States. Questions regarding the Scholarship contest may be directed to [email protected].

2. Purpose of the Scholarship

The Scholarship recognizes a graduating high school student whose sustained participation in music, athletics, and theatre demonstrates commitment, leadership, growth, and the ability to connect skills and experiences across disciplines. The Scholarship is an educational award intended to support post-secondary educational and training opportunities. Recipient selection is based solely on merit based on the published evaluation criteria in these Official Rules and is not determined by random drawing or chance.

3. No Purchase or Application Fee

No purchase, payment, donation, or application fee is required to apply for or receive the Scholarship. A purchase or business relationship with Wenger will not improve an applicant’s likelihood of selection.

4. Eligibility

To be eligible, an applicant must satisfy all of the following requirements at the time of application and through the date the Scholarship is awarded:

• Be a legal resident of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.
• Be enrolled in a public, private, charter, online, or home school located in the United States.
• Be a member of the high school graduating class of 2027 and expect to complete high school requirements during the 2026-2027 academic year.
• Actively participate in at least one qualifying activity in each of the following areas: music, athletics, and theatre.
• Be accepted by and will attend an educational organization described in Section 170(b)(1)(ii) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended (the “Code”) with a pathway connected to music, athletics, theatre, or more than one of these areas.
• Submit a complete application and all required supporting materials by the deadline.
• Comply with these Official Rules and applicable laws and provide all requested verification materials.

Applicants who are under 18 years of age must obtain the consent and electronic signature of a parent or legal guardian, in a format required by Wenger, to enter the Scholarship contest. Wenger may require additional consent or verification at any stage of the Scholarship contest, in its sole discretion. Failure to provide proper consent or verification may result in disqualification from the Scholarship contest. All decisions are final and in Wenger’s sole discretion.

The following individuals are not eligible to apply:

• Employees, officers, and directors of Wenger Corporation and any parent, subsidiary, or affiliated entity designated by Wenger and their respective family members or household members.
• Individuals involved in developing, administering, verifying, or paying the Scholarship or selecting recipients and their respective family members or household members.

Wenger may determine that an applicant is ineligible when a personal, professional, financial, supervisory, or other relationship creates an actual or apparent conflict that cannot be addressed through disclosure and recusal.

6. Application Period and Deadline

The application period begins at 12:00 a.m. Central Time on September 14, and ends at 11:59 p.m. Central Time on February 28, 2027 (the “Application Period”).

Applications, recommendations, signatures, uploads, and other required materials must be received during the Application Period. Late, incomplete, corrupted, inaccessible, or misdirected submissions will be disqualified. Wenger is not responsible for technical failures, internet interruptions, file corruption, platform outages, or other circumstances that prevent timely receipt or disqualification of an application in accordance with these Official Rules. Wenger’s computer system and timekeeping records will control the time of submission. All eligibility decisions made by Sponsor are final.

7. How to Apply

An eligible student must complete and submit the official online application available at https://wengercorp.com/triplethreats. Limit one application per person. Group applications, applications submitted on behalf of another student, and duplicate applications are not permitted. A parent or legal guardian may assist a minor applicant with administrative portions of the form.

8. Required Application Materials

A complete application must include the following:

• Fully-completed official application form (https://wengercorp.com/triplethreats).
• Parent or legal guardian information and consent (when the applicant is under 18 years of age).
• Activity information describing the applicant’s participation in music, athletics, and theatre.
• Written responses addressing commitment, connections among the three areas, leadership, a defining story, and the applicant’s future pathway.
• A two- to three-minute video in which the applicant introduces themselves and explains what being a Wenger Triple Threat means to them.
• Three confidential recommendations submitted through Wenger’s designated recommendation process, one recommender familiar with the applicant’s music participation, one familiar with athletics, and one familiar with theatre.
• Required electronic signatures, certifications, consents, and acknowledgments.

Applicants must follow all word limits, file-size limits, file-format requirements, and submission instructions in the application. Any documentation, materials, and submissions beyond what is requested in the application will not be considered.

9. Applicant Work, Outside Assistance, and Accuracy

Written submissions in the application (except for teacher recommendations) must be authored by the student applicant. The student applicant must be the speaker in the video submission. Application responses must be truthful and must accurately describe the student’s own experiences, participation, goals, and perspective. Reasonable assistance with proofreading, accessibility, technology, organization, and general coaching is permitted, but no person or technology may fabricate experiences, accomplishments, quotations, recommendations, or supporting materials.

Substantive written responses and video statements must reflect the applicant’s own voice. Wenger may request clarification, source information, an interview, or other verification when the authenticity or accuracy of submitted material is reasonably questioned.

10.1 Music

Music may include band, marching band, orchestra, choir, vocal performance, instrumental performance, composition, music production, private study, church or community music, and other comparable activities.

10.2 Athletics

Athletics may include participation as an athlete, coach, or manager in an organized school, club, community, adaptive, or other recognized sport or athletic program.

10.3 Theatre

Theatre may include acting, musical theatre, technical theatre, stage management, lighting, sound, set design or construction, costumes, hair and makeup, props, theatre orchestra or pit, community theatre, and other comparable activities.

10.4 Interdisciplinary Activities

Each activity may be used to satisfy only one of the three required areas: Music, Athletics, or Theatre. Dance may be classified as theatre or athletics, but not both.

11. Recommender Requirements

Recommenders must be adults who know the applicant through an educational, activity, employment, volunteer, or community setting and can provide a meaningful assessment of the applicant. A recommender may not be the applicant, the applicant’s parent or legal guardian, or another member of the applicant’s household.

Recommendations must be submitted directly through Wenger’s designated process. Wenger may contact recommenders to confirm identity, relationship, participation, or statements. Recommendations may be treated as confidential to the extent permitted by law and Wenger policy.

12. Administrative and Eligibility Review

Wenger or its designated administrator will review applications for completeness, timeliness, eligibility, required signatures, and compliance with these Official Rules before selection. Applications that do not satisfy the requirements in these Official Rules will be disqualified.

An application may be removed from consideration at any time if Wenger determines that the applicant is ineligible, the application is incomplete or inaccurate, verification is unavailable, or the applicant or a parent, guardian, or recommender has violated these Official Rules.

13. Selection Criteria

Eligible applications will be evaluated on a 100-point scale using the following criteria:

Financial need will not be considered or scored. Academic grades or grade-point average will not be considered or scored, although Wenger may use school records to verify graduation status or other eligibility information with appropriate authorization.

14. Selection Process

A panel consisting of six (6) qualified panelists appointed by Wenger will evaluate eligible applications using a written rubric based on the criteria above. Panelists must complete confidentiality and conflict-of-interest disclosures required by Wenger.

Panelists will score applications independently before any group discussion.

The three (3) highest-ranked eligible applicants who receive at least 70 points will be selected as finalists. If fewer than three applicants meet the minimum standard, Wenger may name fewer than three finalists in its sole discretion.

Wenger may discontinue the Scholarship processes at any time, for any reason, in its sole discretion, including in the event of fraud, misconduct, third-party interference, or other circumstances that disrupt the orderly administration of the contest and fulfillment of the scholarship. Wenger may decline to award the Scholarship for any reason, in its sole discretion, including if no eligible applicant meets the minimum standard or if awarding the Scholarship would be inconsistent with law or these Official Rules.

15. Tie-Breaking Procedure

If two or more applicants receive the same total score at a position affecting finalist or recipient selection, the tie will be resolved using the higher score in the following order:

1. Interdisciplinary skills connecting music, athletics, and theatre experiences (+0-10%)
2. Participation and commitment across all three areas (+0-5%)
3. Leadership and contribution (+0-10%)
4. Defining story and communication (+0-5%)
5. Future pathway and expected impact of the Scholarship (+0-5%)

If a tie remains, an additional qualified panelist who has not previously scored the tied applications will evaluate those applications using the full published rubric. The additional panelist’s determination will break the tie. All determinations shall be final.

16. Finalist Notification and Verification

Finalists are expected to be notified in April 2027 using the email address and telephone number provided in the application. A potential finalist must respond within five business days, or within another period stated in the notification, and must complete all required verification materials by the stated deadline.

Verification may include proof of identity, age, residence, school enrollment, expected graduation, participation, recommender identity, parent or legal guardian authority, and other application information. Wenger may require signed certifications, releases, tax documents, education or training provider information, and other records reasonably necessary to administer the Scholarship.

Travel documentation will be requested only from the selected recipient and the recipient’s accompanying parent, legal guardian, or other adult companion approved by Wenger.

17. Finalist Interviews and Additional Review

Finalists will be required to participate in one or more interviews with the panelists, answer written follow-up questions, and provide reference checks. Information obtained during finalist review may be used to confirm, clarify, or evaluate the application under the published selection criteria.

18. Scholarship Recipient Selection

After finalist verification and finalist interviews, on or about April 30, 2026, the panelists will select one (1) recipient of the Scholarship based on the published selection criteria. Wenger will notify the proposed recipient by email or phone using the contact information provided in the application. The proposed recipient remains subject to final approval by Wenger and completion of all required documentation. All required documentation must be provided to Wenger within seven (7) business days of notification, or the Scholarship will be forfeited and another recipient selected as provided in these Official Rules.

If the proposed recipient is disqualified for any reason, declines the Scholarship, or does not complete required documentation, Wenger may select an alternate recipient in accordance with these Official Rules, consisting of the finalist with the next-highest score based on final ranking by the panelists. All decisions are final. The winning Scholarship recipient is expected to be publicly announced in May 2027.

19. Scholarship Award

The winning Scholarship recipient will receive a one-time, non-renewable scholarship award in the amount of $10,000. The award is not transferable, assignable, or redeemable for cash. No substitution is permitted except as approved in writing by Wenger.

The award will be paid directly by Wenger to the institution, program, apprenticeship sponsor, certification provider, conservatory, or other approved education or training provider for the benefit of the recipient. Wenger will not make payment directly to the recipient.

20. Eligible Education and Training Pathways

The recipient must be a degree candidate at an “educational organization” as that term is described in Section 170(b)(1)(A)(ii) of the Code. Such an institution must maintain a regular faculty and curriculum and must normally have a regularly organized body of students in attendance at the place where the educational activities are caried on.

Approval of a pathway is determined by Wenger in its discretion based on legitimacy, educational or training purpose, connection to the Scholarship, payment capability, and compliance requirements.

21. Restrictions on use of Scholarship Funds

SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS MAY ONLY BE APPLIED TO:

• APPROVED TUITION AND FEES REQUIRED FOR ENROLLMENT OR ATTENDANCE BY THE RECIPIENT AT AN APPROVED INSTITUTION; OR
• FEES, BOOKS, SUPPLIES, AND EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR COURSES OF UNSTRUCTION AT AN APPROVED INSTITUTION.

FUNDS MAY NOT BE USED FOR ROOM AND BOARD, INCIDENTAL EXPENSES, TRANSPORTATION, GENERAL LIVING EXPENSES, PERSONAL EXPENSES, ENTERTAINMENT, DEBT REPAYMENT, OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT, OR EXPENSES UNRELATED TO THE APPROVED PATHWAY.

THE RECIPIENT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CONFIRMING HOW THE SCHOLARSHIP AFFECTS OR MIGHT AFFECT OTHER FINANCIAL AID, GRANTS, BENEGITS, OR INSTITUTIONAL CHARGES. WENGER DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT AN INSTITUTION OR PROVIDER WILL ACCEPT THE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD OR APPLY IT IN A PARTICULAR MANNER.

22. Payment, Enrollment, and Deferral

To receive the Scholarship funds, the winning Scholarship recipient must provide complete payment instructions and verification of enrollment, acceptance, registration, or participation in an approved pathway by August 1, 2027, unless Wenger approves a later date in writing. Wenger will determine the payment date and method after verification.

Wenger may approve one deferral of up to 12 months for a documented gap year, delayed program start, military service, medical circumstance, or other reason accepted by Wenger. A deferral is not automatic. If the recipient does not satisfy payment conditions by the final approved deadline, the award may be forfeited and offered to an alternate recipient.

Any refund, credit balance, returned payment, or unused amount attributable to the Scholarship must be returned to Wenger unless Wenger provides written instructions otherwise. The recipient may not direct an institution or provider to keep unused funds or to release unused funds to the recipient or to any third party.

23. Taxes and Financial Responsibility

The winning Scholarship recipient is responsible for determining and satisfying any federal, state, or local tax obligations associated with the Scholarship or related benefits. Wenger does not provide tax advice and does not represent that any payment or benefit will be tax-free. Wenger may require the Scholarship recipient or payee to provide tax documentation and may report payments or benefits as required by law.

The Scholarship recipient should consult a qualified tax professional regarding individual circumstances. The recipient is also responsible for notifying an institution or financial-aid office when required.

24. Recipient Travel and Wenger Experience

The Scholarship recipient may be invited to participate in a Wenger-hosted experience at Wenger Corporation headquarters in Owatonna, Minnesota. The experience is anticipated to take place in June 2027 on dates coordinated by Wenger with the recipient and the recipient’s family member. The May 2027 recipient announcement is separate from the June 2027 visit.

The recipient must be accompanied by one parent or legal guardian unless Wenger approves another adult companion in writing. This requirement may apply even if the recipient has reached 18 years of age before the visit. The accompanying individual must satisfy all identification, documentation, conduct, and travel requirements established by Wenger.

Subject to final approval and separate written travel terms, Wenger expects to arrange or reimburse reasonable round-trip transportation, lodging, designated ground transportation, specified meals, and approved activities for the recipient and one approved accompanying adult, not exceed $3,500. Wenger will determine the travel method, itinerary, lodging, booking process, reimbursement requirements, and covered expenses.

Personal purchases, optional activities, baggage beyond stated limits, alcohol, room service, entertainment, travel upgrades, unapproved transportation, and other incidental expenses will not be covered unless the charges are reasonable, in Wenger’s sole discretion, and unless Wenger approves them in writing.

The Wenger experience may include tours, recognition activities, interviews, photography, video recording, career exploration, meetings with Wenger employees, and activities related to music, athletics, theatre, or the recipient’s intended pathway.

Participation will be subject to availability, identification requirements, signed releases, conduct expectations, schedules, accessibility arrangements, health and safety requirements, and other written travel terms. Wenger may modify, relocate, postpone, provide an alternative experience, or cancel the visit when reasonably necessary.

25. Storytelling, Interviews, and Publicity

Finalists may be invited to participate in interviews, written follow-up questions, photography, video recording, or other Wenger Triple Threats storytelling activities that do not require travel to Wenger headquarters unless separately agreed upon. The recipient may be asked to participate in reasonable interviews, photography, video recording, event coverage, and storytelling activities associated with the Wenger experience. Any public use of a finalist’s or recipient’s name, image, voice, likeness, biography, application story, school information, or submitted media will be governed by a separate written publicity and media release signed by the individual and, when required, a parent or legal guardian.

26. Privacy and Use of Information

Subject to applicable law and Wenger’s Privacy Policy, Wenger may collect, use, review, store, and disclose application content and applicant, parent or legal guardian, recommender, panelist, school, and provider information as reasonably necessary to administer the Scholarship. Permitted purposes may include, but are not limited to, eligibility review, selection, verification, communications, fraud prevention, recipient travel administration, payment, recordkeeping, legal compliance, and approved storytelling.

Information may be shared with Wenger employees, panelists, service providers, professional advisers, schools, activity organizations, institutions, training providers, and government authorities when reasonably necessary for an authorized purpose or required by law and as permitted under Wenger’s Privacy Policy. Information concerning the selected recipient and accompanying adult may also be shared with travel vendors and other organizations involved in administering the Wenger experience.

When Wenger requests education records from a school or educational institution, Wenger may require a separate signed and dated authorization specifying the records, purpose, and permitted recipient. Wenger’s collection of information directly from an applicant is governed by Wenger’s applicable privacy notices and policies, not by any representation that Wenger is itself an educational institution subject to FERPA.

27. Limited License

The applicant retains ownership of original application materials. By submitting an application, the applicant grants Wenger a nonexclusive, royalty-free license to copy, store, transmit, display, and review the materials for Scholarship administration, selection, verification, recordkeeping, legal compliance, and related internal purposes.

The applicant represents that submitted application materials do not violate another person’s privacy, publicity, copyright, trademark, contractual, or other rights, not would their use by Wenger as contemplated herein violate any third-party right or applicable laws.

28. Grounds for Disqualification

Wenger may disqualify an applicant, finalist, or winning Scholarship recipient in its sole discretion for, among others, any of the following reasons:

• Failure to satisfy eligibility requirements or comply with these Official Rules.
• Late, incomplete, duplicate, inaccessible, or improperly submitted materials.
• False, misleading, fabricated, plagiarized, altered, or unverifiable information or materials.
• Impersonation, unauthorized submission, tampering, manipulation of the application or selection process, or interference with another applicant.
• Failure to respond, verify information, complete required documents, participate in required finalist interviews or verification activities, or meet a stated deadline. A selected recipient may also be disqualified or may forfeit program benefits for failing to complete required recipient documentation or other conditions stated in the Scholarship acceptance agreement.
• Conduct that threatens safety, violates law, materially disrupts the program, or reasonably risks harm to Wenger, another participant, or the integrity of the Scholarship.
• A conflict of interest or prohibited relationship that cannot be resolved through disclosure and recusal.

Disqualification may occur before or after finalist or recipient notification. If payment has already been made based on material misrepresentation or ineligibility, Wenger may seek return of the funds to the extent permitted by law.

29. Scholarship Rules and Program Changes

Wenger may interpret these Official Rules, resolve ambiguities, verify information, correct administrative errors, and make program decisions consistent with the published criteria and applicable law. Wenger may suspend, modify, postpone, or cancel the Scholarship if fraud, technical failure, legal requirements, safety concerns, insufficient eligible applications, events beyond Wenger’s reasonable control, or other circumstances materially affect fair or lawful administration.

When reasonably practicable, Wenger will provide notice of a material change and will apply the change in a manner designed to preserve fairness. Wenger may not waive an eligibility requirement or materially change the selection criteria for the purpose of favoring a particular applicant.

30. Release and Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EACH APPLICANT AND HIS OR HER PARENTS AND GUARDIANS AGREE TO RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS WENGER CORPORATION, ITS PARENT, SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, PANELISTS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND ADVERTISING OR PROMOTIONAL PARTNERS FROM CLAIMS, LOSSES, DAMAGES, COSTS, OR LIABILITIES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO PARTICIPATION IN THE SCHOLARSHIP CONSTEST, ACCEPTANCE OR USE OF AN AWARD OR BENEFIT, TRAVEL AND PUBLICITY RELATING TO THE CONTEST, PARTICIPATION IN THE WENGER EXPERIENCE, OR USE OF APPLICATION MATERIALS, UNLESS OTHERWISE PROHIBITED BY LAW.

WENGER IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR LOST, LATE, INCOMPLETE, INACCESSIBLE, CORRUPTED, MISDIRECTED, OR UNAUTHORIZED SUBMISSIONS; TECHNICAL OR COMMUNICATIONS FAILURES; ERRORS CAUSED BY THIRD-PARTY SYSTEMS; OR EVENTS BEYOND WENGER’S REASONABLE CONTROL. NOTHING IN THESE OFFICIAL RULES LIMITS RIGHTS THAT CANNOT LAWFULLY BE WAIVED.

31. Disputes and Governing Law

Except where prohibited, these Official Rules and the Scholarship will be governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought in a state court located in Steele County, Minnesota, or federal court in the district of Minnesota, and the parties consent to such court’s jurisdiction and venue.

Claims must be brought individually and not as part of a class, collective, representative, or private-attorney-general action, to the extent permitted by law. No applicant is guaranteed finalist status, an award, publication, travel, or another benefit merely by applying. Only the verified Scholarship recipient will be eligible for the proposed Wenger-hosted travel experience, subject to the conditions stated in these Official Rules and separate written travel terms.

32. Accessibility and Accommodations

Wenger intends to provide a fair application process. An applicant who needs a reasonable accommodation or an accessible alternative to a required format should contact [email protected] sufficiently before the end of the Application Period to allow for Wenger to decide if a reasonable accommodation can be provided. Not all requests will be granted. Requesting an accommodation will not negatively affect evaluation. Wenger may request information reasonably necessary to evaluate options for an effective accommodation.

33. Electronic Signatures and Communications

By typing a name, selecting an acknowledgment, and submitting the application or another Scholarship document electronically, the signer intends to provide an electronic signature and certify the information associated with that signature. Wenger may communicate electronically using the contact information provided. Applicants are responsible for monitoring email, voicemail, spam folders, and application-system notifications.

A parent or legal guardian signing for a minor certifies that the signer has legal authority to provide the stated consent. Wenger may require a handwritten signature, identity verification, or additional documentation when reasonably necessary.

34. Social Media and Third-Party Platforms

The Scholarship may be promoted through social media or other third-party platforms, but applications must be submitted through Wenger’s designated process. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the Scholarship is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, or another social media platform. Applicants release those platforms from claims arising solely from the Scholarship to the extent required by applicable platform terms and law.

35. Official Rules and Winner’s List

A copy of the final Official Rules and information about the winning Scholarship recipient will be available at https://wengercorp.com/triplethreats for the period required by Wenger policy and applicable law.
